symphony Posted September 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2010 Hi everyone, Our ship arrives on a Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. Do you think we're safe booking an 11:30 a.m. airline? Thanks. Symphony
shorties Posted September 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2010 I've been told it's a 15 minute cab ride. Our flight is at 11:40AM so I hope the 15 minute cab ride is correct.
JohninDC Posted September 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2010 15 min and a flat rate of $26 + tip for the cab. Carry your bags off or sign up for the BAGS or Luggage Express program - usually $20 each and the cruiseline transports your bags to MIA and checks them in for your flight -- best $20 I ever spent! As long as you are clear of customs and immigration by 9:00 you should be fine. Good luck!:)
brunello22 Posted September 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2010 15 minutes with NO traffic. On the weekend, not a problem, but on a weekday morning ... might be a bit tight, so be sure to get early disembarkation.

Good luck!:) Our flight wasnt till 1.05pm, but we managed to stay on board in our stateroom enjoying room service breakfast (Carnival Liberty last October), until about 8.45 am. Then we went to the showroom and sat about 10 mins until our debarkation number was called. We got our bags and were through US Customs within 30 mins, and we at Miami airport by 10am. Yes the ride was about 15 mins, and it cost about 26.00. I wish we could have taken advantage of Luggage express, but we had a connecting flight in Toronto with Canadian Customs, so not available to us. To the OP, barring unforseen arrival delays of the ship ( rare ) you should be fine.:)
RuthlessBunny Posted September 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2010 You should be okay, but traffic on 836 is miserable, both directions, on weekday mornings. Additionally, Tuesday is a heavy business travel day, so expect delays and lines at MIA.
