1 HappyCruiser Posted September 27, 2010 #26 Share Posted September 27, 2010 Except swim attire. On a recent Emerald cruise even bathing suits were being allowed. The women had a cover up & the guys had only a shirt. I will say they did look dry but I couldn't really tell for sure. ;)
pris993 Posted September 27, 2010 #27 Share Posted September 27, 2010 It's certainly not the 50s, when gents wore sports coats & ties, and ladies wore hats and dresses when flying or taking the train. Much more relaxed/casual (and realistic) today. I long for the 50s, then folks travelled in style. Today folks look mess.

On the Emerald, had a lady in the IC/ couch seats by the windows get up and left after sitting there in a soaking wet suit. The cushion was soaked too. What a goof! She didn't care, it wasn't her furniture.

The same people will put their feet on the arms of the show lounge chairs and think nothing of it.

Buffalo_Soldier Posted September 28, 2010 #33 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I wear shorts to the dining room for breakfast and lunch. You won't be turned away for wearing jeans. Wow that's nice to know, I'm used to wearing docker shorts almost everywhere I go 365 days a year. It's good to know I'll be comfortable for breakfast however I'll probably eat lunch at more local type places off the boat.
