What about excursions? Cant wait til 10/18/10 We also were unable to book specialty restaurants online because they were sold out on line. After boarding the Summit, we went down to the Normandie restaurant and got the date and time we tried to get online. While we were Concierge Class, we didn't have to give our cabin number until after he checked for availability. Apparently, only some tables are available for online booking, but others are made available on a a first come - first serve basis for booking on the ship. Have a great cruise and don't worry like I did. - Emile
Xport Posted September 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Celebrity stops offering shore excursions and specialty restaurant reservations on-line once they are booked at 70% of capacity... Please note that this practice does not imply that they hold back 30% of specialty restaurant capacity [it's done by guest count, not by table count] at every possible dining time but rather that they hold back 30% of specialty restaurant capacity over the course of an evening... If you attempt to book upon boarding, you are apt to get a restaurant reservation for the evening that you want but you may/may not get the time you want... Hi Mike..hope you had a good cruise:)....and just OT for one minute. You have mail;) Back to the topic....they do offer times for those folks who want to book after boarding the ship. Just go see the Maitr'd on the first day!:)
algorithmannie Posted September 29, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2010 Just to clarify any potential confusion... I noticed that this post was titled "Concierge Class" and the op refers to the concierge. Concierge Class rooms do have several benefits, but a special concierge is not one of them :) You can still use the regular guest relations desk, and they are very helpful! fleckle Posted September 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2010 We found the concierge also to be very helpful. Our impression was that although their functions overlap somewhat, regular guest relations handles the usual, every day problems or requests on the ship while the concierge handles special or out-of-the ordinary situations, particularly related to events or concerns off the ship. robertmartha Posted September 29, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2010 while waiting to board we always know the specialty restaurants and wine packages are pitched to waiting passengers so we always have a day or two in mind that we would like to eat at the specialty restaurants and book before actually boarding the ship. Has always worked for us and the charges hit your on board account vs prebooking against your cc.

Rare vickykay Posted September 29, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2010 I also was not able to book on line (said not available) but just kept playing around with the site and eventually was able to book - can't remember what I actually did but worth trying.
