Pure and Pristine Beach near Palya del Carmen

We have been to PDC several times, visiting Tulum twice. WE loved the beach at Tulum because it was beautifiul, no commercial stuff and no beach vendors.

 

Is there such a beach near PDC that is a taxi ride away that is safe and gorgeous? Xcarat seems to be polished Disney style operation..

It is a $30 cab ride but Akumal is nice and Yal-Ku Lagoon is gorgeous. We took a cab there and then rode the collectivo back to PDC. I think that it was $2 or $3 @ for the collectivo. There should be some beaches closer to PDC though. The ones in town are gorgeous, but you have to get farther away from town to get away from the crowds.

What is a collectivo? Is it a a local bus? Is there a taxi stand at Akumal? or the Lagoon?
