Mrs Miggins Posted October 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2010 Understand from Crown and Anchor newsletter that 28th Oct is Ochi Day - (the day the greeks stood up to the Italians in 1940 refusing them free passage to occupy Greece. Understand there will be National celebrations - and on the website I read it said that many archeological sites will be closed. We are due to be in Katokolon (for Olympia) on that day - does anybody know it the site will be closed (this will bring a huge sigh of relief to my husband and daughter - but not to me.) Naomi2 Posted October 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2010 Hi, we will also be at Katakolon on October 28 on the Prinsendam and have booked a ship tour to Olympia and the museum that day. Hopefully Hal has checked out the site and museum and we are not paying top dollar for a nonexistant tour. We did book a tour with Hal rather than trying to do something on our own as there are 5 ships in Katakalon that day and it is a holiday so I assume many of the shops and restaurants will be closed.
