U will dock right in town at Trinity Wharf. It is a very easy flat walk to the shops. U won't have any trouble organising transport.

We did this last summer. I would highly recommend getting the Gold Class ticket on the Kuranda Railway. Have fun!

I agree. Go up on the SkyRail (cablecar) and come back on the Scenic Railway - gold class.
