Where in Galveston does RCCL ships dock? Is it in walking distance from

the Harbor House? I know where Carnival docks as I see it on the webcam

however I havent seen RCCL ships as yet. Anyone know?

Yes it is in walking distance from

the Harbor House? 3 blocks

Quote from another CC cruiser

stayed there Harbor House 2 1/2 weeks ago and staying there again in Feb. Didn't have a issue with the elevator but I used the stairs when not dragging my bags. They charged me $10 for my car, but I didn't have one!! No problem got it off my bill. I walked with my bag to the Conquest and had no problem getting there.:)

Thanks...I will look for it in the webcam come Nov 21st.

When both Carnival and RCI have ships at their terminals, you can only see the Carnival ship in the web cam. Once she leaves Terminal #1, you will then be able to see the RCI ship at Terminal #2. Usually, the Carnival ship leaves around 4:00 PM and the RCI ship around 5:00 PM.

fyi - we walked it once for RCCL but will pay the less than $10 cabfare if we ever stay there again.

The pavement is uneven so even rolling luggage will be "fun". The walk to RCCL is pretty long - and I work out so for people who are not very active, it won't be pretty. Also, you will definitely be breathing nasty car and bus fumes most of the way. Just my two cents.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have to agree with the above poster. If I was sailing on Carnival I would walk it but I would never walk to the Royal Caribbean's terminal. Not only is the sidewalk uneven and has broken pieces of cement but you will be dodging the traffic (cars, taxis, tour buses, vans from differnt hotels, etc.) of the people trying to get into and out of Carnival's terminal.

Hopefully by time the Dream and Mariner get here.........

and with all the continuing improvements being made presently at the docks...........

and the necessary dock improvements being made as a condition for new Carnival and RCCL ships.....

there should be improvements for walking back and forth between

Harbor House and Terminals that are better.

Heck the Tremont Hotel is just as close as Harbor and may even be an easier walk now. I would have to go and look ........

but HH and TH are same distance from terminal.
