Capt. Tor Olsen

Can anyone tell me which ship Capt. Olsen is currently on? He was on Voyager last fall and was on Mariner early this year, but apparently is no longer on Mariner. Anyone know where he is?

HIM AND CAPTAIN JOHNNY SHARE THE MARINER. RIGHT NOW HE ON VACATION AT HOME IN KENTUCKY. HE WILL BE BACK ON THE MARINER WHEN CAPTAIN JOHNNY GOES ON VACATION.

When we were on the Mariner, he told us he would be on that ship until Captain Johnny came back, then he was going on vacation and then back to the Voyger.

Oh, rats. I was hoping he would be on the Navigator in late August. Maybe we'll catch up with him on some future cruise. We were lucky enough to be invited to dinner with him on the Voyager last fall.

Captain Bang, on the Navigator, is also a very nice man.

Just curious: Can you tell me how people get invited to dinner with the Captain? We would have loved to have dinner with Captain Olsen last week on the Mariner. What a wonderful Captain, especially considering everything he had to deal with concerning Hurricane Frances. Would have liked the chance to tell him how much we all appreciated his frequent updates and what seemed like a boatload of compassion for our ever-changing travel plans.

cprofits - I think Capt. Johnny will be on the Mariner during your Sept. 26th trip. I believe Capt. Olsen will be back mid-October.

 

Regarding the Navigator, I believe I read that Capt. Bang will be aboard beginning October 2; I assume Capt. Sullivan is Master of the NV now.

 

njreindeer - Dinner with the Captain is usually arranged by the Social Host/Hostess.

Captain Olsen is currently on Mariner. I don't know for how long though.

As a follow up, Capt Olsen said him and Capt Johnny do 14 week rotations on Mariner. So if someone could tell you the last week Capt Johnny was on, you could figure out when he will be back.

Just got off Mariner on Sunday, 9/12/04 and the crew said Captain Olsen would be on the ship another month to six weeks.
