rhinog Posted October 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Hi We are doing our first ever back to back cruise also the first time we have been on the Quest indeed with Azamara. It starts on 6th November Venice to Athens and then Athens to Istanbul. As we are doing a B2B does it mean that things will be duplicated such as menus or shows or do they work on longer cycles? wripro Posted October 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2010 There will probably be a significant amount of duplication.
schmidlapp Posted October 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2010 Just got of the Journey Oct 3rd after a b2b, the Discoveries mdr, duplicated exactly the first and second week, I was told it is not always this way. However be prepared and rotate your nights in the specalty dining so you don't repeat too much in the mdr..

California Native Posted November 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2010 Just returned from a B2B on the Journey for a total of 24 days. The menus were repeating, but we were told that they now have a 14 day menu rotation in place... So not every single menu will be a repeat, nor will the 3rd night menu necessarily be offered the 3rd night on the following cruise segment. We found that several nights we were so exhausted from tours that we ate in the buffet..so put that option in the equation, along with speciality restaurant nights you might do and it really won't feel like the same thing once again. To add to the mix of all of this.... We had several SUPER themed buffets that you won't want to miss There was a Greek, Meditarrean, Seafood/Fish, Italian and for lunch the officers BBQ on our Nov 3rd sailing...the decor for each one was WAY better than the Oct 22nd sailing in addition to the ice carvings, fruit/veggie carvings. So, by the time you are onboard..it should be like Martha Stewart on steriods. Hope this helps K.
cruisecountess Posted November 19, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 19, 2010 When we did our B2B (Baltics and Norway), the menus were repeated; however, there are so many wonderful choices, that you don't have to order the same items, so it's like a new menu in that respect. As others have indicated, there are also the buffet and specialty restaurants to work into the mix. I can pretty much promise you that you will not get bored by the food choices. Regarding the entertainment, DH and I found that the cabaret style entertainment is far superior on Azamara than on Oceania. There were a few repeat shows, but the entertainers were so good that we didn't mind. If it does bother you, consider spending showtime with an after-dinner drink in the lounge or have the casino pretty much to yourself ~ it makes it easy to pick the generous slot machine! (No kidding, I found one where I won 90% of the time!) And, if you have a full touring schedule, you just might one to head to your cabin early on a few nights. You will have a wonderful time; relax and enjoy. Harriet
3418ahl Posted November 20, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2010 I second the motion that you won't get bored with the food. We just got off a 24 day b2b and still didn't have time to try all the things we wanted. In addition to more choices in the MDR than you can try, there is wonderful sushi in the buffet, and also several specialty buffets that I would have liked to have more of. We ate at the specialty restaurants (Aqualina and Prime C) and thoroughly enjoyed that also. As for the shows, I think you will find yourself so tired, that at the end of the day you may just want to turn in some nights, so it's actually nice to know you can catch the show "the second time around"! Good luck and enjoy
rhinog Posted November 23, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted November 23, 2010 I'm the OP for this. Just got back from a 14 day B2B. Whilst we were on the Quest we had a galley tour and they did have a 14 day menu posted on the wall but I seem to recall that we went in the Discovery on the same day both weeks and it was the same. However like the other posters said it wasn't really a problem the food was so good everywhere we actually ate at the buffet some nights. We had a Croatian Buffet one night and a Turkish one another plus an Indian evening we aren't normally buffet people in the evening but it was really good. We also ate in Prime C and Aqualina as well. But it's so nice to see a cruise line doing regional buffets rather than the same thing every day. I for one couldn't fault the food at all. In fact I couldn't fault anything!
3418ahl Posted November 23, 2010 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2010 This is so nice to hear. When we were on the Journey, we also loved the regional buffets, and thought the food was the best we had eaten on any line thus far.
maryann ns Posted November 23, 2010 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2010 I am having such a hard time waiting until March to see all the improvements. I thought our cruise last year on Quest was fabulous and from all I hear things are even better.
