madams77 Posted January 13, 2011 #26 Share Posted January 13, 2011 We have an NCL excursion booked for Cayo Levantado. Does anyone know if we have to get tender tickets ahead of time or do you just show up at the time designated on your Excursion and Itinerary document? rharvey999 Posted January 13, 2011 #27 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Can't speak for NCL, but our excursion group met in the theater to present our tickets and were given the info necessary. We all went to the tender together. The ship kept it separate from the tenders heading to Samana.
jdvmd Posted January 13, 2011 #28 Share Posted January 13, 2011 You get to Caya Levantado via boats from the resort (can't think of the name at this second). You must book this as an excursion through the ship. You cannot just show up over there. The ship's tenders took people to the port via ship's tenders. Those going on the excursion to Caya Levantado met and were escorted to their awaiting boat (from the resort), which was pulled up on the opposite side of the ship (the Pearl). On the return, you could leave when you wanted -- just wait for a returning resort boat and get on. It was a wonderful day. I am a big beach person and this was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever encountered. If I am lucky enough to have an intinerary includee LaSamana once again, I am most certainly going to book the same excursion through NCL.
checkard Posted January 13, 2011 #29 Share Posted January 13, 2011 The resort at Cayo Leventado was Grand Principle or something like that. The blue padded lounge chairs are for guest of that resort only. The white plastic ones are for the cruise ship passengers. We weren't in our chairs much at all, just used them to keep our stuff out of the sand. Go down the beach to where you see rocks and shells washing in and you'll find lots of beach glass. Can you describe how to get there when facing the island from the tender dock? I will be there a week from tomorrow. Thanks

I will be there a week from tomorrow. Thanks When the tender/ferry lands at the hotel, there will be staff that show you the way to your "designated area." You receive a welcome punch and the walkway continues to the left. It is not a big area so you won't have any problems. Again, I cannot stress enough that you only get there if you are on a cruise-sponsored excursion -- you cannot get there on your own.

The Cayo Levantado cruise tenders do not go to the hotel. Also, I was specifically interested in how to find the beach with sea glass when you get off the ship tender for the ship Cayo Leventado beach excursions. There is only one area where the hotel's tenders (these are used for the ship's excursion) dock. At least this is how it was last year.
