Where does Uniworld dock in Basel?

I will be doing the Grand European Discovery (Vienna to Basel) 4/30/11 to 5/14/11. Does anyone know where the ship docks in Basel? I will be spending an extra day in Basel before I return home, and just want some idea of where I will be setting out from.

We just returned from Castles Along the Rhine on the River Ambassador... We docked very close to the Tramway which will take you into the city of Basel... We were able to walk from the ship to the tramway in about 5-10 minutes. Enjoy your trip!!;)

Do you remember how much the tram cost?

We recently returned from Uniworld's Rhine/Moselle river cruise and the boat docked outside of the main part of the city. My wife and I walked into town which was about a 30 minute walk along the river. Very easy walk, maybe 1.5-2.0 miles each way. Of course, bus/tram is another option.

Thanks for your help. I believe that there are some docks right in town, but some are at a distance. If I'm lucky, I'll be in walking distance to my hotel; if not, a tram will do fine.

the dock is called Dreilandereck or klybeck. tram no 8 runs close from the ship and wil take you to the market square and also the sbb train station. it takes about 15 minutes and costs a few swiss francs
