Capricruiser Posted October 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2010 Cruise ships don't stop at Beirut, Lebanon very often and I think 2011 will be the first time that MSC has it on one of their itineraries. The Melody is scheduled for Beirut port calls four times next year, once each in May, July, September and October. The ten-hour port time of 07.00 to 17.00 will allow a full day excursion to the fascinating Roman city of Baalbek as well as other sites in the Beirut area. Besides Beirut, she will be stopping at three Greek ports, Athens, Zakynthos (Zante), and Kos - the latter two rarely seen on cruise itineraries - plus Limassol, Cyprus and the ever present Alexandria. While the Melody is far from being the newest of the MSC ships, she's small enough to ensure that the ports of call won't be jam-packed with a couple thousand excursionists. I'm booked for the May cruise.
awesome1294 Posted November 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2010 Been looking at this earlier on and thinking of booking it as we like the idea of free kids places and the places they are stopping at look good too..Just a bit dubious about feedback..i have only been on one cruise and that was a carnival caribbean cruise this year.. Capricruiser Posted November 4, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted November 4, 2010 The itinerary is excellent. The ship itself may not be the greatest but being that its passenger load is small it's the perfect ship for most of the ports to be visited.
