Venice - spending the night in port on the ship

Hello,

I've recently booked the Oct 8-15, 2011 Voyager of the Seas sailing which actually gets back into Venice at 8:00am Oct 14 and docks overnight, then disembarkation is the 15th. I like this, as a "built-in" hotel for Venice. Was wondering if anyone has experienced this and if the ship actually clears customs on the 14th, or if they do it the 15th, and how early on the 15th we can get off to catch a flight? We would do whatever we have to to catch an earlier flight, including walking off with our own luggage. If it's been given the "all clear" on the 14th, can we freely walk off as early as like 6:00am on the 15th to catch an 9:00am or earlier flight? Or do we have to wait for the regular disembarkation procedure on the 15th (ship clear customs, etc)?
