Jim Avery Posted February 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Just received documents for SD I out of St Thomas March 20th. Looks like great stops and shore excursions. Pre and post cruise stay at the Holiday Inn downtown in Charlotte Amalie. Anyone done this itinerary before? What is not to be missed besides being on SD I anyway? Thanks, Jim Avery
vandrefalk Posted February 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Jim, we did some of the ports on our November cruise on SDI. The kayak adventure in Nevis was cancelled, so we just wandered on our own -- went to the Nelson museum. Some folks did the rainforest and liked it. In Marigot, we had a group do the America's Cup -- they loved it! We'd seen Orient Beach, so wandered around the shops in Marigot and took a cab to Grand Case for lunch -- very nice (but a bit expensive) lunch at the Fish Pot. Virgin Gorda -- some folks did the dolphin encounter, but we did the Baths and thoroughly enjoyed it! Don't miss Foxy's -- you'll go there Friday night after Virgin Gorda and then very, very late (last tender is at like 1:30 in the morning), you'll move to the next bay (White's Bay) for the champagne and caviar splash the next day. Wander down to the Soggy Dollar Bar for an original Painkiller. We envy you -- we had a fabulous time. Maybe Jeff will be back as activities director (he's been doing some of the Mayan cruises). Tell him hi from Bob and Karen! Vandrefalk
