Two out of three ain't bad (Tampa hotel help)

We don't do Priceline or Hotwire...want to know what we're getting.

What hotels in Downtown Tampa have at least two out of three of these:

Breakfast included in the price

Free transportation from airport to hotel

Free transportation from hotel to port

(I understand this doesn't cost much so the above two are more beneficial)

We're going to stay at the Residence Inn downtown next month. It includes breakfast and transportation to the port. I plan to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, which I've read is about $25. I got the hotel for $92, which is a State Govt. rate. I think it was in the $140 range without special rates.

Stayed at the Embassy Suites Tampa Convention Centre, which offered a very good free breakfast. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the cruise terminals.

As the above poster stated, I don't know of any downtown hotels that offered free shuttles to and from the airport. In most cities, usually only hotels located in and around the airport offer this.

We leave on 11/29 out of Tampa and are booked at the HIE at Rocky Point Island....front desk says they have a shuttle to port. But I was told because we are using "Reward Points" for our room we are not eligible to use the shuttle. Sounds kind of crappy to me. So I've booked a sedan to get us to the port.

OK, thanks.

Was it an "easy" 10 minute walk meaning only a couple of straight streets to cross or was it a lot of weaving in and out of lanes of traffic crossing streets and lifting suitcases up over big curbs?

Easy as in "straight shot"; the hotel is 1/2 block off of Channelside Drive (the same road as the cruise terminal). You'll simply walk out of the hotel, up to Channelside, then proceed down that road to the pier. You will have to cross a few intersections (I think 3 iirc) but they are all side streets, with Channelside being the main road in that area.

No "big curbs" to hoist luggage up, as all of the intersections are ADA (wheelchair/handicap) friendly.

Alternatively, you could hop on the trolley & take it up to the "Channelside Plaza" stop, which is about 1/2 block from the terminal.
