fuc847 Posted November 5, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2010 i personally am not a 1st time cruiser although 3 other people are. I just wanted to know, as a 1st timer which of these 2 ships would be the best if these things are what we value most: -As little crowdedness as possible -Service from crew (attitude from servers) -feeling of an "all-inclusive resort" (less "class divide", explained below) I know these 2 ships are relatively different classes and Epic does seem to have more "hype" and more "epic", but it happens that I'm down to these two because they're priced almost the same (carribean 7 day). I am leaning slightly towards the eclipse because it visits 4 ports rather than 3. I've been on Norwegian pearl before and I found service to be OK, you dont get any personal touch with any crew because they are always different. Also, there seems to be more feeling regarding class divide due to the number of specialty restaurants and suites amenities. And I felt they tried to "sell" many things like bottled water on NCL pearl which was a big turn off. DO they try to sell many things on the X eclipse? If the price were the same, which one would YOU choose?
Shifra Posted November 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2010 For me this would be a no-brainer. Definately Celebrity! In regard to the list you have of what you want in a cruise, Celebrity Eclipse would be a much better fit.
whciv Posted November 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2010 I agree, Celebrity is one of our favorite cruise lines. They are a notch higher in food and service than NCL and most of the other mainstream cruise lines. Don't get me wrong, NCL is nice and the Epic is brand new, but I would stay with Celebrity if you want the best service and food. Have a great trip :) Smart-Travelers http://www.*****
