time4me2fly Posted November 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2010 Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Floride Etoile? Did you enjoy your stay at this hotel? How easy is it to get from hotel to famous landmarks. Any great places to eat and shop near hotel? Love to hear your opinions
Rare Hlitner Posted November 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2010 If you haven't yet done it we would suggest you look at tripadvisor.com and do a search for that hotel which you will find is currently rated #584 out of about 1800 hotels. Do not get too hung-up on the rating (many question how this site gets those ratings) but read the various short reviews presented by real travelers. Frequent travelers to Paris all develop their hotel favorites and many prefer to stay in the more quaint 5th and 6th (both on the Left Bank). Your hotel is in the 16th which is also a pretty neat neighborhood, but not very convenient to most of the main tourist areas other than the Eiffel Tower. That being said, we really prefer areas like the 16th because the Metro provides fast transportation to any part of Paris. By the way, we have a favorite local restaurant in the 7th (it borders the 16th) called the Bistrot de Bretuil. We have not been to that place in about 6 years, but doubt if it ever changes. Google the place and read some reviews. It has a place in our hearts because its where DW discovered the joy of Escargot. Hank
moyaroo Posted November 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2010 I tend to like the 16th in parts as well. This hotel is located fairly well near the Trocadero and of course l'Etoile so not down on the south end of the arr. which is pretty much no where for tourism. time4me2fly Posted November 13, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted November 13, 2010 My nephew and his wife will be staying here for 3 nights. They leave next week. I was just curious about hotel, dining locations and getting around.
