suzantn Posted November 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2010 Has anyone ever gotten a suite on the Carnival Ecstacy? We are cruising next year for our 35th wedding anniversary and were going to get a balcony but we are wondering how much larger is the suite than a balcony stateroom? Thanks, Suzanne

firefly333 Posted November 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2010 I would go with the balcony, unless you are talking about the top suite. Those old category 11s, not real private, a little larger than a regular balcony (which is really a converted OV during last dry dock). Get the balcony. Those are the Ocean Suites and yes avoid them the balcony is so small you can barely turn around and zero privacy
bonniemari Posted November 9, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2010 Wouldn't waste my money on OS on a Fantasy class ship. The cabin itself is not much bigger than a regular balcony cabin and the balcony is smaller than a regular balcony cabin plus lacks privacy. Either book a regular balcony or the Grand Suite. The only perk of an OS on the Ecstacy would be VIP checkin. See you are from Memphis-hi neighbor
Rare Tapi Posted November 9, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2010 OS suites not worth it. For that price, I might as well get a standard balcony on a seven night cruise....

bonniemari Posted November 9, 2010 #8 Share Posted November 9, 2010 Is it a waste on the destiny ship as well? (space & money) No the OS on the Destiny class ships are great. Larger cabin, balcony and whirlpool tub with seperate dressing area.
suzantn Posted November 9, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted November 9, 2010 Thanks for all the advice. I was curious cause the suites weren't that much more so I was wondering. I have had a balcony before and love it so we just may stay with that. Thanks again, Suzanne
