What happenened to the Philly Cruise Terminal?

Recommended Posts

We have cruised out of Philadelphia twice, I believe in '03 and '08 on repositioning cruises with NCL,and I think both RCCL & NCL had ships based in Philly for several years, but no more.

Is Philadelphia done/finished as a cruise terminal port?

I wonder if the problem with getting in and out of Philly is that the road bridges are too low??

On the Norwegian Sea, which was a small ship [ maybe 40,000 to 50,000 tons], we were outside as we sailed under a couple of bridges [Wilmington, DE ??] and it seemed like we were within a few feet of 'scraping the paint'. Now with just about all the major cruise lines going to these much larger ships, 100,000+ tons, and doing away with the smaller ships, maybe getting them under the bridges is not a possibility???.
