Future Cruise Certificates

I have a question too.

My mother is going with us on our Cruise in 17 days. She is also part of a bowling league that is using part of their weekly fees to go on a cruise in May of next year, but they are a block of cabins that are being held by a TA and they do not have booking numbers yet. If she buys a FCC on our cruise would she be able to use it on that cruise when they are given booking numbers and have to give their personal info for the booking?

Also is it 100OBC for the cruise you are presently on AND 100OBC for the future cruise??

Thanks

Could I buy 2 or 3 and use all of them on the same cruise and get $200 or $300 per cabin. Or is it one at a time?

So far no .. otherwise Im using all 5 of mine on my next cruise .. better yet, stocking up using 10.

sadly, the answer is no... but the OBC is combinable with stock holders credit... at least so far.

Depends on what date the booking shows to know for sure. The new wording says you can buy them for cruises not already booked, so to be sure it gets applied, the booking date would have to be after the FCC date ..

... but the old ones like I have dont have that wording and carnival has been sometimes allowing you to mail them in on already booked cruises more than they are not allowing. it is probably a lot more trouble to mail them back to you?

Hope I didnt confuse you.

I just have one question... The OBC that they give you on your future cruise, can that in turn then be used on that said future cruise, and then applied to another cruise in the future??? Am I making any sense??

In a way, yes, you could. Say you sail in November 2010 and but an FCC for $100. You then sail in November 2011 and apply your FCC to the November 2011 cruise. On your November 2011 cruise, you will have a $100 OBC. On your November 2011 cruise, you buy another FCC and put it on your S&S card, using the $100 OBC to pay for the new $100 FCC.

Then again, on a typical 7-day cruise the $100 FCC OBC combined with the $100 shareholder FCC basically covers tips and a few cocktails. If you are lucky enough to have a ton of OBCs (perhaps through ES price matches), you can always cash them in at the casino slots by taking money off the S&S and then cashing out and getting the money from the cage - simple and easy, and no service charge.

I forgot to answer this part... you get nothing on the cruise you are on.

The OBC you apply to a future cruise is based on the # of days of the cruise. 5 days or less, $50 OBC, 6 days $75 OBC, 7 days $100 OBC up to $200 OBC.

The $100 you paid will be applied to your final payment if you buy it and bring it home to send in.

If you are solo, the OBC is half .. so for a 5 day on Ecstasy, solo, I only get $25 OBC and it will cost almost $5 to mail it into Miami certified mail.

You are not able to charge this to your S&S account .. it must be charged separately to either a debit or credit card (no cash purchases).

It will also show as a separate charge when you look at your charges on your credit card .. .

When we got our FCC on the Splendor in February all they asked for was our folio number. Never asked for a CC (and we paid cash for our S&S)

I'm curious. How DID you pay for the FCC if you used cash for your S&S?

They only asked for our Folio number as well, but told us they would show up as a separate charge on the Credit Card our S&S was linked to. It did. I guess when you are paying cash for the S&S, they have to let you pay cash.

Iv heard you cant pay cash .. so interesting. ..

OK I apologize in advance if this has already been covered. I purchased a FCC in Oct. on the Triumph. I did not receive a certificate, I was told it would be sent to my room the last day of my cruise. It was not and the desk told me there was a problem with the printer and I would receive ithe certificate in the mail within a week. No certificate. I called Carnival this morning and was advised that they don't mail them. ???? So I was given my certificate number. Promotions Dept. told me that the number is all I needed and if asked for the original certificate, just tell them I don't have it. Has anyone had this happen? Will I have problems using it in the future? Thanks.

They told me that if I mail it regular mail and it gets lost they will allow me to give them the FCC number and will get credited to my booking.

Made me wonder why I am mailing it certified. Love them Carnival rules.

I have a question about FCC, DW and I are going on the Fantasy in January, and are planning on a cruise in November 2011 with our DD and BF.

Could we buy two of the certificates and have one applied to our booking and one to theirs?

One thing we are trying to figure out is whether we would need to book seperately to take advantage of that, or could we book under one number and have both FCC be applied to each room?

The FCCs are nontransferable. You would have to be booked in the cabin with them to apply a FCC that is in your name to the cabin.

If you booked both you and your husband, one in each cabin, then you could buy one in each name to apply.

PS I guess you have read the threads saying some of the FCCs are also being denied, because you cant buy them and apply them to already booked cruises. The new language on the FCCs also states this .. but most are still getting thru .. so you have a good chance of getting one applied .. ?

Firefly.........then how does the Friends and family FCC work???? What are those rules?

You have to book onboard .. (the previous poster sounded to me like they were already booked).

If you book a cruise onboard, they will give you two friends and familys certs to give to your friends or family for two more cabins. They have to book the exact same cruise as you booked. I think they have up to 60 days from the date on their certs to book the same cruise.
