Rare Hlitner Posted November 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2010 If you like to walk you can see most of Cadiz on your feet. The main parts of town are all within walking distance of the ship. As a general rule you will want to stay within the old town area (adjacent to the port). My advice is download a city map (they will also give you some kind of map on your ship) and just walk from the port towards the Cathedral.. The best shopping area fans out from the Cathedral area and there are also plenty of restaurants and cafes. Hank
kate52 Posted November 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2010 If you want to have a look to see what interests you before you sail these sites will help. http://www.routeyou.com/route/view/62749/walking-and-hiking-route-cadiz-introduction-walk.en http://www.cadiz.es/Category/36550 Also there is HOHO bus right outside the port gates. Morgans Posted November 19, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 19, 2010 Cadiz is extremely easy to do from the ship. You can walk (can be baking hot however in the summer) or there is also a HOHo bus from the port gates. The beaches are spectacular and there are some lovely shops and cafes. The square outside the Cathedral is very attractive and there are many little side street in which to wander. A lovely place.
sea chantey Posted November 20, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted November 20, 2010 Can you recommend a restaurant or two? Regards,
Morgans Posted November 20, 2010 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2010 El Faro - 15 Calle San Felix is very pleasant although we were there 3 or so years ago. Specialises in sea food and prices are moderate. Worth a google! There are many. many cafes where you can sit outside in the sun so you will have lots of choice. Morgans Posted November 21, 2010 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2010 Sorry, don't know this one but looking at the map it looks extremely convenient for the ship's docking area.....probably only a few minutes walk which would be handy.
