Carnival Players Club – New VIP Cruise Package by Invitation!

Gary & I have been cruising on Carnival since 2001. We have always loved blowing our cash in the casino, but really there were no extra perks, comps, etc. at the time. emotion-6.gif

.

In 2009, we contacted the Ocean Players Club before each cruise (3 of them) and began receiving a little gift in our room, i.e.; chocolate covered strawberry’s, a letter from the casino host to come say hello to him/her and get a comp drink, and also received 500 pts. credited to our play (1000 pts. = $10.00 cash back, or upload to play it). We did notice that introducing ourselves the first day at sea was smart, because the host would see us and offer comp drinks while we played the duration of the cruise. Also making sure we inserted our S&S Card each time, so our play could be tracked. (I typically am in the casino daily and spend a little over $2000 for the week)…the good news is that I can usually walk off the ship up by $1000!

.

As we got to our last cruise (Splendor - Oct'09) we met a wonderful casino host who informed us in detail about the focus Carnival was putting on the Carnival Players Club (CPC) to try new things and not so much on their partnership with Ocean Players Club (OPC). She mentioned there is no membership card. She let us know that Gary & I had obtained the points and was already on her list, generated by the online tracking system. (Once a player reaches 1000 pts. they’re automatically enrolled). We said, oh that’s cool and can’t wait to see what benefits would come our way! ;)

.

Well they did, twice! Gary & I received another CPC VIP invitation in October’10… OMG! The benefits are incredible! :D So, since membership is free (well nothings free) sounds good though, based on a minimum of play critera, I thought I would share them with you…

*Carnival Dream sailing 01/29/11 – Eastern Caribbean – 7 day, special discounted cruise rate for two, VIP boarding and embarkation, “Bon Voyage” gift, complementary beverages for me and a guest while playing in the casino, commemorative CPC logo items, and $300 free casino cash. (Gary also receives $300 = $600 total cash to play)…also with the tracking system, I can call CPC and get a P&L statement for my tax filing.

.

Needless to say, WE BOOKED IT AGAIN!!

.

Last CPC update is that Carnival is currently piloting (in two ships, Dream being one of them), after a player obtains 1500 pts. (tracking), they will start to receive comp drinks during play for the duration of the cruise.

.

Hope this helps..."if the wheels ain't spinnin, you ain't win'in!"

Cool.. I just racked up well over 5000 points on the legend (but no free drinks there!) I did get a nice fruit basket (that included a bottle of wine), two bottles of water and a picture coupon on this cruise by registering with the OCP. I wonder how many points you need for the casino cash or other benefits.

Wow! 5000 pts? Oh ya! You'll be getting an invitation for a CPC VIP cruise in the future, no problem! You were automatically enrolled in CPC at 1000 pts. You really should have introduced yourself to the casino host (manager) on day one of your cruise, you would have easily been comp'd drinks daily! The biggest mistake people make is asking the casino cocktail host for the comp drink...NO NO NO! Only the casino manager/host can sign for your free drinks. He or she should become your new best friend...lol. Happy future sailings!

COOL.. I did meet the host a few times. My mother (in a different cabin) didn't get her promised bon voyage package so I talked to him about it on day 2, he took care of it! Then one day I sat a machine and my card didn't register, I didn't notice because I was odering a drink. He fixed it then told the waitress to put it on him.

One other time a waiter came up and told both me and my mother that the casino wanted to buy us a drink.

I've gotten free cruise offers and a Vegas trip offer from NCL, but never took them up on it. But if Carnival offers me something I'M GOING!

Does Princess have a Players Club? I just might need to sign up. We're booked on the Sapphire later this month.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Pixie Dust 2: The Ocean Players Club runs the Casino on all lines owned by the Carnival Corporation. You should send them an e-mail and let them know if you've sailed on a prior cruise on a Carnival Corporation ship. You might even have a surprise.

HELLLLOOOOO, Casino Player. Thanks for the info. Found the Ocean Players Club website and fired off an email to let them know of our upcoming cruise. We're new to this board and really appreciate CC'ers shaing their wealth of cruising knowledge with us newbies.

Does anyone know the casino host on Carnival Spirit? Getting ready to sail tomorrow and would like go meet with him/her as soon as we board. Any inside information about the host would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nice to know how it works! We just got a invitation that included $100 free play for my husband and I got $50 plus 25% off the price of some cruises. Have to book before April 30th. (Our last cruise we were only offered $50 for both of us.) We were on the Truimph and got free drinks. The best thing was the host would come up and call you by name and made it a wonderful experience.... but I didn't come out ahead, but had a great time!

follow up message...we just got an even better CPC offer and have changed our trip from Dream to Conquest sailing on 2/20/11. Looks like Magic is coming to Galveston...very cool!

We're signed up for the Conquest VIP cruise that sails this Sunday....they gave me an offer we couldn't refuse! I love the VIP cruises but this will be only our 2nd one (usually we receive notice after we already have a bunch of cruises booked for the year)

An update....while on the May Conquest cruise I heard talk of a VIP cruise in Aug, 8 day on the Miracle. When we got home I emailed my contact at the Carnival casino division to ask him if I'd get an invite for that VIP cruise also. He came back saying that I wasn't on the list but that they would comp us a SUITE!....sweet! I called today and booked the suite. I only had to pay the $600 deposit which we will get back at the casino cage once on the ship. I didn't even have to pay port fees and taxes (on NCL you have to pay those for comped cabins). Anyway, with the going price of cabins on that sailing it's like a $4000 gift. I'm so excited since we've never stayed in a suite!

I just sent in email to OPC asking for an invite. What is the date of the Miracle cruise?

The VIP cruise is Aug 26th :)

Thanks.

I forgot the Miracle sales out of New York during the summer. Not good for me. I was thinking that the Miracle sales from Fort Lauderdale.

They did promise to put me on the list for future VIP invitations.

Yup, I've been on the Miracle out of Ft Lauderdale before myself. I was just happy to have a VIP out of a port nearby that we could drive to :)

Hopefully you'll get on an upcoming VIP cruise

What do you have to do to qualify for the VIP cruise ?

You have to have already been on a cruise on Carnival and played quite a bit in the casino (playing $10 a day won't cut it). I play just quarter machines but I play for hours every night. My average points for a cruise is between 5500 and 8000 points if that tells you anything. There was a woman on our last VIP cruise with 49,000 points ...I bet the casino loved her!!

I also have talked to someone on the phone at the Ocean Players Club on the phone several times in the past and let them know when I'm cruising again and ask if I'm eligible for anything on an upcoming cruise. It never hurts to ask...

Thanks popsec

I received something in the mail the other day for casino credit of $75.00 , but it has to be used by February , I'm not cruising again until next April ... if I don't receive anything else before then I will take your advice and give them a call .

Hi!

I was searching on Google and pulled up this old thread.

Is there a difference between Ocean Players Club and Carnival Players Club?

On my Legend cruise in March, I racked up a lot of points, and played a lot of Caribbean poker. The Casino Host told me to send him an email when I book the Legend again.

I booked the Legend cruise for August 14th and cannot figure out how to email the casino host of a particluar ship?

Anyone know?

Thanks for any help!

OCP is sending me a premium VIP gift to my cabin, but not sure if that is all I was supposed to do! LOL

You used to be able to email the casino hosts but I don't think you can anymore. Even if you are able to, chances are good that the casino host is no longer there that you met. You can always call the Ocean Players Club and ask them if you're eligible for anything else on your upcoming cruise.

As far as the difference between OPC and CPC ....I don't think there is one. Supposedly Carnival was taking over the player's club but it doesn't appear that they have.
