scottbee Posted November 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2010 There's a new bus which is a direct service from Madrid Barajas airport to Madrid's Atocha station; €2/ea. Certainly a great deal for those of us that are flying into Madrid and take a train to the cruise port. Previously is was subway on 3 different lines to reach Atocha Renfe. http://www.emtmadrid.es/lineaAeropuerto/index.html

It will be nice to be able to take the bus rather than a taxi to Atocha (the metro route is basically insane if schlepping luggage).
goldie888 Posted November 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2010 We booked our hotel and it is close to the Atocha train station. This will make our transport option better than going on the metro with our bags. Do anyone have a picture of this bus?
scottbee Posted December 16, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted December 16, 2010 OK; back from Spain and gave the bus a whirl. For the person that asked what it looks like; It's run by EMT (the Madrid metro transit people), costs €2; and we just followed the 'bus' sign outside the airport. Looked at the driver, and asked "Atocha?"; he said "Si"; so that was good enough for me. A few luggage racks inside, and free Wifi on the bus too! Certainly one of the best deals for an airport transfer I've come across; two thumbs up.
