Prinsendam South America cruise 2011

My wife and I are booked on the upcoming cruise around South America on the Prinsendam leaving from Fort Lauderdale in January 2011. Have not cruised in a long time and never on something of this length (66 days). We're wondering how to get information on things to see, booking tours and any tips on shipboard life etc.

General questions about life aboard a HAL ship are right here on the HAL board. Read through some of the threads to get a feel for it. Ask questions as you will.

More specific questions about your cruise, getting together with others on it, taking tours together, etc, are best put to the Roll Call for your specific cruise.

I, too, will be on that trip. We have a very active roll call going and have booked many private excursions. Unfortunately most of those are full now but there are still some openings and there is lots of information.

That looks as if it will be a great trip ... the Prinsendam is a wonderful ship and you will enjoy her charm. The crew is great and obviously the itinerary will be a lot of fun .. have a great time

Thank you. We just discovered this group. Not sure we know what we are getting ourselves into on a trip of this length but I hope we can pick up some tips from you folks when we get on board.

If you don't have a balcony, get up to the Crows Nest bar early in the mornings in Antarctica for the views of a lifetime.

Well I certainly don't have a balcony...I don't even have a window. I will put on my warm coat and go outside for the view!

Outside is certainly better for pictures, but there's something to be said for being out of a cold wind.;)

Ah .. the promenade deck is wonderful for viewing and getting exercise.

You will love the trip up the Amazon! We have done it before and will be with you on the 2011 trip—in just over 1 month!
