You can book a private island tour with Victor Bodden and have your own driver for the day. He will take you anywhere you want to go. It will cost around $100 for 4 people, but well worth it. If you go to Tabayana beach, you can snorkel right from there. It is a good half hour away, but you get to see the gorgeous mountains and scenery along the way. The West Bay beaches (including Tabayana) are just beautiful...much better than the man-made Mahogany Bay which is next to the port.

You can stop at Victor's home, where he has a sanctuary for rescued animals (mostly monkeys and parrots) and hold the monkeys...that's always fun. He also has a zipline there (extra cost). You can look at his site (boddentours dot com) for ideas of things to do. Then wind up at the beach (the driver will wait there for as long as you want to stay).

Have you looked at the Ports of Call section of the boards yet? You may get some other ideas there. I recommend Victor's outfit because we have used them twice and they are great! But something else may strike your fancy;)

Have fun....this is our favorite port!!:)

I will emphasize that West End/Tabyana Beaches as the best on the isle, followed by Maya Cay. Snorkeling is good off both of these beaches. Many cruisers will choose the convenient Mahagony Beach, which is right next to the new pier, but it really is just a manmade facsimile of what a true Caribbean beach is like.
