Any AA meetings on board

Yes, look for the "Friends of Bill W." meeting in the Fun Times. They're usually in the late afternoons. I used to wonder who Bill W. was and who those "friends" were, but I found out through someone who goes. The meetings are scheduled, but relatively unorganized, I was told.

YES! There will be AA (Friends of Bill W. meetings onboard).

As someone mentioned, they're not well organized. They don't have a person (Carnival staff) presiding over the meeting and literature is not provided. Basically, a time and a location is printed on the Fun Times. Those who show up will be in charge of setting up the meeting.

Keep in mind that sometimes you'll find both Friends of Bill W. (AA) and Friends of Lois (Al-Anon) show up, so we've experienced combined meetings. Actually a very welcome twist!

Make sure to bring a copy of your favorite AA approved literature so that you have something to draw topics from.

Also, we've found that the meetings are not consistent. They may not be offered every single day, and when they're offered, they'll be at different times (usually when there's a lounge open).

On one sailing, Bill W meetings were not scheduled at all during the first few days, so we went to Guest Relations and told them. Starting the following day, they started scheduling the meetings. Another time, the people who attended the first meeting chose among ourselves a place and a time for the next meeting that was agreeable to all. Dont' be afraid to do the same. Once again, these meetings are not closely monitored so you can pretty much do as you wish!

Would like to know if there on meetings onboard?

of course, Friends of Bill or friends of Jimmy, listed in the activities schedule each day. Sometimes the timing isn't the greatest, e.g., noon on a port day, but you could easily find fellowship on a sea day.

Remember that Friends of Dorothy caters to the GLBT and is not a 12 step group, so no confusion there.
