ardt64 Posted November 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I am still confused if the aft cabins are the larger "superior" balconies or regular balconies. We have a quad on the 8th floor and 2 doubles on the 10th floor. If I look at the maps online they all look like regular, but I have heard people say they are superior. monicajay Posted November 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2010 These cabins are classified as superior, however the actual balcony seemed no bigger than on the standard category. I am speaking from my experience on the Orchestra but as they are the same I would expect cabins to be the same. We noticed when up alongside other ships their aft balconies were often huge. Lots of ship vibration but we loved the view from the stern. Enjoy your trip!
mpunt Posted December 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2010 we were in 8222 and 8220 and they are definitely larger. The deck is larger and so are the rooms. Have fun!!!
ardt64 Posted December 1, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted December 1, 2010 See my confusion, when I look at deck plans it looks to me like they are labelled regular cabins. But some people say they are superior some say they are regular. Is it different for different floors? We have 8th and 10th floor rooms.
Satincruz Posted December 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2010 Those two floors actually DO have different categories for the aft cabins. The ones you have on 8 are bigger (superior): http://travel.travelocity.com/ecruise/ShipDetailsDeck.do?shipId=262&deckId=2100 The one you have on deck 10 is smaller (standard), though those 2 shades of pink are kind of hard to differentiate! http://travel.travelocity.com/ecruise/ShipDetailsDeck.do?shipId=262&deckId=2102 They aren't TOO much different in size though. Here's a recent photo from flickr: And to be on deck 10 is nicer in some ways--you're closer to all of the activities and food, to name a couple. Capricruiser Posted December 2, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2010 It's not the deck that determines standard vs. superior, it's the CATEGORY. On the Poesia class ships, categories 9, 10, and 11 are superior (class 12 are suites).
