Sparetiming Posted December 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2010 We are taking a tour of the island and the guide suggested stopping at the floating marketplace. Has anyone been there and is it worth the time? Also has anyone been to Boka tabla Cave, (natural underwater cave)?
2CoolCanucks Posted December 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2010 We are taking a tour of the island and the guide suggested stopping at the floating marketplace. Has anyone been there and is it worth the time? Also has anyone been to Boka tabla Cave, (natural underwater cave)? The floating market is great. Don't miss it. :) It is within walking distance of the swinging bridge ( a few minutes walk going "inland" along the "canal" on the Punda side) I love to buy the little tiny bananas that they sell there. VERY sweet and yummy. The vendors come from Venezuela. Interesting to see and not expensive to buy a good, fresh snack. Boca Table cave is nice but not exceptionally impressive if you have seen other underwater caves. It is rather basic in my humble opinion.
curacaoqueen Posted December 4, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2010 Boca Tabla is located in Shete Boca Park, worth the visit, nice area to explore, go early as it gets hot. The floating market is worth only a couple of minutes, produce and fish and lots of flies. Nice picture op though.
roothy123 Posted December 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2010 I agree, Floating Market is ok, but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time there. It's basically a lot of fruit and veggy markets in front of schooners from South America. I went to the little bridge past it and took a picture of the schooners on the water. We never made it to Boca Tabla as planned, so can't comment on that.
CanuckCurlers Posted December 31, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2010 Does anyone know if you can bring fruits, veggies, etc. back on the ship from the floating market?
