ACTV, the transit authority which operates water buses and urban buses within the City of Venice, has announced a 24 hour strike action on Friday 10th December 2010.

 

Public transport services, water buses and urban buses, will be disrupted by the strike action.

 

Also, the //venice>connected points ticket desks may not be operating normally.

As with all announced strikes in Italy, stay tuned. It may well be canceled or postponed.

I think this strike has been planned every month since Sept, then it gets postponed for a month.

We were faced with a strike a few yrs ago, just as we were getting ready to board the vaporetto and head to the airport. The private water taxis quickly swooped in to take advantage of the situation; we shared one with another couple to Piazelle Roma, then we took the blue ATVO bus to the airport.
