30% chance of rain, would you pack an umbrella?

We each have a "good" poncho that we can use if we need to go ashore in a serious rain but otherwise, the dollar-store ones are good enough. They tuck into luggage and go-ashore bags easily and if we use them and they're soaked we usually toss them into the trash as we reboard the ship.

 

If you need to board a tender a poncho will keep you dry; an umbrella is a nuisance. And not much help either.

 

We've been fine with this approach, cruising in a lot of varied weather. But everyone's comfort level is different.
