Beware of cabin #6351 and #6355 on Liberty

that is unless you really don't mind LOUD music at all times of the day and late into the night. These cabins are directly over the live band that plays in the casino. We Not only could we hear the music clearly...and I mean every word..but the vibrations kept us awake as well. Carnival actually provided us with earplugs. So much for catching up on sleep on our vacation.

I will chime in here to and agree 100%. Sorry to see that you joined cruisecritic so late-

There is a band that sets up across from the casino bar and does not start playing until 9pm each evening.

You want to avoid being over this area at all costs.

You also want to avoid being over any stage area of a lounge.

Seating areas are fine and will not get noise.

We had the same thing happen on the Dream, #6383 Band under the room. Carnival did give us 40% back plus 15% off the next cruise after I told them about the music. It is a known problem with the rooms. So they will take care of you.

I would ask to get moved but this is the superbowl cruise and all suites & balconies have been sold out for a while. Since we are part of a group, I don't know that they will do anything. Our two sets of friends next door have never cruised before and now I'm going to feel somewhat responsible if they can't sleep. Maybe we should move to an oceanview down below if these balconies so bad.

Oh, no...we are in 6363 which is only two cabins down. We reserved a over a year ago and let Carnival choose our cabin - live & let learn. So where do you find on cruisecritic which cabins are ok and which are not?

The most common advice that people give is to get a room with only rooms above and below you. Deck 7 is great for Conquest, Destiny/Triumph, Splendor, & Dream classes (Deck 8 also for Dream). The forward cabins are usually good all the way to the spa deck (unless you're right underneath the gym). Riviera deck is good, and most of the Main deck will be good (Deck 3 is above Main, but is typically not loud at night). If you go to cruisedeckplans dot com, they have a "drag-it" function. It'll pull up the deck plans onto one page, and you can drag the decks around, to see exactly what's above & below you, once you line up the elevators.

For your upcoming cruise, I'm not sure if you can do anything. You can always ask, but it's probably a long shot. Since you're passed final payment, cancelling & rebooking wouldn't be a feasible option, as you'd lose your entire deposits. Just be prepared, bring your earplugs, and decide ahead of time that it's not going to bother you & that you'll have a great cruise.

Being two cabins down does make a huge difference. Being directly above the noise is the biggie here with the OP

exactly. If you are going to be on the deck above a deck with clubs/venues, etc, you need to know what you are above. We have had plenty of balconys on deck 6 above closets, crew areas, photo shops, etc and never had any problem. But if you book a room above a bar/club/or especially the theater, be prepared for noise. The easiest solution? Check the deck plan before you book.

Whenevr booking i always have the website on the computer and when i call i know what cabin i want. If they offer something else for a better price i can see where it is and what is above and below it. After doing this so many times i feel like it's a no brainer however when letting Carnival choose, i guess they put you in the less desired cabins....

Better luck next time!@

Uh oh! We are in 6316 and hope we don't have any problems? any advice on that cabin?

I would get that changed- You are over the sports bar and could get quite loud in there on game nights. Other nights will be fine.

Looking at the cruisedeckplans website, with their drag-it function, your room is directly over part of the casino. 6300 thru about 6284 is over the sports bar, so you should be fine as far as that goes. But I don't know how much noise comes up from the casino. I haven't heard anyone say anything about that. ???

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I am hoping that maybe I will party with everyone else late into the evening so maybe won't be in the cabin. When I first saw where Carnival put us I thought it was okay but totally forgot about the band that plays there. But you are all correct - attitude is everything and we will make the most of it. The band won't be a 24/7 thing, right? So next cruise, to heck with saving a buck & will choose our own cabin. We've been on 7 several times and it's been great! This is our first time on 6.
