CR dude Posted December 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2010 We will be taking an "island hopping" cruise around the Caribbean aboard the Maasdam beginning in March of next year where we will be visiting southern and eastern islands and we are just wondering if there is a quick way to determine which of tne numerous islands accord docking and which ones require tendering? Or perhaps there are some who remember which are which? Jim and Flora in Costa Rica
Boytjie Posted December 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2010 If you look at the intinerary on the HAL web site it will show 'TR' next to the port name when tendering is required.
catl331 Posted December 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2010 Correct, Peter, but there's always the possibility of changes due to unforeseen events. For example, in St Lucia we were supposed to dock, but another ship overstayed its planned time, and we had to tender.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 7, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 7, 2010 We have also experinced the same thing in a couple of ports. Even though HAL's site had indicated which ports were to be tender ports -- when we arrived at a couple of ports where we were suppose to be docked -- because there were more ships in a port than normal -- we had to tender. Things can change once you are on the ship.
