GRAND CAYMAN SHOPPING HOURS

We're booked for the 2-05-2005 sailing of the Brilliance to the Canal. One of it's stops is in GC and it's on a Sunday. From what I've heard, shops are not open on Sunday. My question is......are a majority of the shops closed, even tho a ship is in port?? Also, if I've calculated correctly, that Sunday is SuperBowl Sunday, so I absolutely won't miss THAT departure. Most Caribbean/Gulf island shops are closed on Sundays. Personally, though, I don't think that shopping in GC is the best, anyway, and you can still see the other attractions. The public beach is great!
