Majesty Notes: mid-December 2010

Just off the Majesty. Quick weekend getaway. Here are some notes and observations.

The automated soda machine for people who purchase the soda card:

It's OUTSIDE on Deck 11, the pool deck.

The machine is just outside the doors that lead to the Windjammer. It's on the starboard side of center.

The available flavors are:

1. Coke

2. Diet Coke

3. Coke Zero

4. gingerale

5. Fanta Orange

6. Sprite

7. water

Plenty of washclothes in the cabin.

Ricky Matthews runs a HECKUVA Quest. ALL new stuff. Great quests. First time ever that the ending was not the same old-same old.

When the line at Guest Services is long, and you want to cash a traveler's cheque (the best way, in my opinion, to get extra cash), just go to the cashier's window in the casino. They are lovely, gracious and accommodating.

Compass Deli is still great. The pizza in Sorrento's was darned good too, and goes GREAT with Champagne. :D

Two words for My Time Dining on the Majesty of the Seas:

SSSSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW service.

Food itself was good.

The chocolate soufflé sounds a lot better than it tastes.

Diamonds in December goodies, as reported elsewhere: heavy metal pin with two "diamonds", diamond shaped refrigerator magnet, little mini-backpack shaped case which can be for a camera or anything else you can dream, Royal Blue metal water bottle with carabinier, really large generic RC cream colored tote bag.

According to our cabin steward, Denry, they no longer have egg crate mattress toppers on board. My sofabed was hard as a rock. He tried - he put mattress pads under the sheets, but only twin sheets and the twin comforter on top. It was better after I told him to use the larger, queen-sized linens. Still not "comfortable", but not so bad.

Sofabed plus two twins = the length of the cabin.

More storage than in an Oasis balcony cabin.

Great water pressure in Cabin 1588; bad toilet. Needed much coaxing and one visit from maintenance to achieve flushing.

Rene is going to the Explorer.

The cruise director's staff was the least engaged, the least friendly, and the least personable of any I have encountered.

Slots were as tight as a mountain climber's sphincter.

Great friends = a great cruise All the rest is nonsense.

We have had Denry before and he is very good. Mostly the Majesty crew is excellent, but we too have found the cruise directors staff kind of standoffish, except Ricky!:D

We took are chocolate covered strawberries that were given to us on the ship up to the Diamond event and eat them with Champagne, that was a nice touch.

Coke zero was a great addition!

I agree, definite great personality. There was some new stuff , but I thought it could of used a little more, on our cruise the team with all the bags of stuff brought in won.

So far on 5 cruises, including one on Majesty in 2007, the beds have been great. I'm guessing Majesty's are do for replacing again. We were in a JS with the beds pushed together and mine was great, and my wife's side was definitely warn out.

That wouldn't have worked on our cruise, unless someone was on a B2B2B. Really almost NO standard stuff, nothing that could have been brought in that would have tilted the outcome.

I was on the JS sofabed, NOT a real bed. Ah, there's the rub! ;)

Merion mom: Do you know when rene will be going to explorer. Will be on the majesty in jan. Thanks in advance!

Now. She left the Majesty on Monday, and I believe that she went DIRECTLY to the Explorer.
