Whats the chance of being upgraded on a guarantee cabin?

We are platinum members so what extras do we get?

Upgrades are purely by chance. Most upgrades are within the same type category, ie from an low category inside to a higher category inside, etc.

 

Platinum benefits are preferred boarding, captain's circle party, internet credit and debarkation lounge.

We didn't get an upgrade offer, but got a downgrade offer which resulted in Princess paying us each $82 to take a cruise.:D

 

Booked a balcony guarantee, balconies were overbooked, offered an oceanview for $500 credit each, also got the difference credited on board for difference between oceanview and balcony rates.

 

Pretty good deal. Leaving the ship they gave us the credit balance in cash.

 

This was on the Sea Princess.
