Alamo shuttle?

We are disembarking in Miami and renting a car at the Miami airport for the day since we don't fly out until nighttime. Does Alamo have a shuttle from the POM to MIA or will we have to take a cab to the airport? Do you have to call for the shuttle or will it just be there? I'm sure we'll have a late disembarkation time since our flight isn't until 9:30 PM.

If we do have to take a cab, are there cabs big enough for 5 people plus luggage? We'd need a minivan at least.

Alamo/National were supposed to terminate the POM shuttle several months ago. I don't know if they did or not.

About 2 weeks ago I went onto the Alamo website where they have a live chat support link to an" Alamo Professional" He advised me that they did cancel the pier shuttle for a time, but due to overwhelming complaints they decided to reinstate it.

On 13th July MIA opened a brand new rental car centre housing 16 rental companies under one roof with a combined shuttle bus to the airport.

So not 100% but assume that the old Alamo bus is still used to pick you up at the pier and take you to the new rental centre. Then when you are finished and you take the car back to the centre you will be shuttled to the airport with the new shuttle bus service.

Hope that helps.

Regards.
