notus Posted December 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2010 We will be docking at San Pedro in January on the Sapphire Princess. Our flight out of Long Beach isn't until the late afternoon. Does anyone have some suggestions for passing the time and then arrangements for a shuttle to LGB? or should we check in very early to get luggage taken care of and then do something in Long Beach? Thanks!
riffatsea Posted December 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2010 I'd find out how early you can check in. Many airlines only allow you to leave bags a certain no. of hours before your flight.
Grandmaanne7 Posted December 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2010 We thought we would have the same dilemna a 2 years ago but we were so long getting off the ship that we only had an hour wait at the airport. LA decided to fingerprint anyone who was not American as they were getting off the ship and the wait was tremendously long. Even though we docked before 7:00, we were not through customs until almost 1:00. I suggest you don't pay in advance for any trips other than transfers to the airport just in case. win1 Posted December 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2010 Hi there, Come visit Long Beach after your cruise. The Acquarium of the Pacific is fun and they have storage for your bags. Here is their website so you can check it out. http://www.aquariumofpacific.org I think you can enjoy our city before you head out to the aipport for your trip home. Enjoy your cruise, Winnie
Cruisin' Chick Posted December 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 20, 2010 I agree about the Aquarium. There is so much to see there. And you probably won't be too far from the airport.
notus Posted December 20, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted December 20, 2010 Good suggestions!! I was thinking about the aquarium (and logistics getting to the airport, luggage, etc). Sounds like a fun thing to do. Thanks for your comments and ideas!!
Dayenu Posted December 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Check with the cruise ship, many offer city tours with a drop-off in the airport.
