WindSurf- Quality of Internet- Barbados Trip- 12/26

Has anyone used the internet on the WindSurf in the Carribean? We will be on the 12/26 cruise out of Barbados & are wondering what we should expect in terms of reliability. :)

The quality is like it is on most of the ships - big or small. It's okay. They use satellite which of course changes as the ship moves. And I think ships charge a lot for the use of their computers.

 

I've been luckier with the iphone.

You buy a card at reception. $22.50 for 30 minutes, $55 for 100, or $100 for 200 minutes. Be very careful to be SURE you're logged out at the end of a session. If you don't get a positive confirmation message your time will run out and nobody on the ship can help with questions.

The internet service is slow, really slow (dial up speed). You are better to find internet cafes on shore at each port. If you choose to use it, use it late at night (midnight).
