best time to arrive for "your time" dining

We just returned from our 12/17 to 12/22 cruise on the Fantasy.

It was romantic trip just for my husband and me, so we weren't really interested in sitting with people we didn't know and being forced to make small talk. Therefore, we chose ATD and we are SO GLAD we did! We arrived every night between 6:00 and 7:30 and NEVER had to wait. We received a table for two every night. We also had a different server every night, but everything went well and we had no complaints about anything or anybody. We will definitely sign up for ATD from now on. It was just so stress and hassle free!

Just a follow up from my original post. Just off spirit yesterday. After our first night, we requested a specific waiter, Roberto. If we were there by 6:30 there was no wait. We were a table of five and had to wait the first night we requested him but they gave us a pager and told us we could go anywhere but the casino or our room... No problem for us.

For us, the singing and dancing was fun and Roberto was very good at including us which we found entertaining. The best entertainment was from Aaron, the table magician. His card tricks were amazing and my teenage kids LOVED him. We were a good audience so he seemed to seek us out. (all other entertainment on the ship was just awful)

Just off the Dream (4 ppl) and NEVER waited for a table. Most nights we went around 6:45 or 7...and it worked out great.

My only advise - go 5 minutes before the 1/4 hour. so 6:55 instead of 7 - or 8:10 instead of 8:15, etc.

You will beat any rush every time.
