You can access wifi from your room, but it isn't free. You need to go to the internet cafe and set up a user account, then you can log on with your laptop or ipad in your room or in various public areas.

On the Oasis and Allure the user account can be set up on the stateroom TV. There is also a keyboard and internet available on the stateroom TV.

Any idea to the cost? Debating if I should just use the pay per minute internet or buy a larger package if possible. Thanks in advance!

Depends on how much time you need, often you can buy a package on the first day and get bonus time which lowers the price per minute.

 

Internet at sea is expensive and often slow.

Yes.....I did....thats great:)....except I have AT&T, and they don't offer such a plan:(

Sorry, my BIL works for ATT, so my sister is stuck with them. Verizon costs more, but the coverage is great.

Service on Oasis wasn't all that bad.... I think that a lot also has to do with the sites you visit....but yes, it's not like being on FIOS.

Depending on whether you've cruised before, they give you a coupon for some free minutes. We usually purchase a lot of minutes because service can be pretty slow. It gets to the point where you jump on just to check email, lol.

 

Besides better things to do on a cruise than banging away on a computer. ;)
