Champagne Cruiser Posted December 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2010 I am booked to sail on Jan 30 on the Celebrity Soltice and it is the one cruise not stopping in St. Thomas, but instead is stopping in St. Kitts. There isn't any info on St. Kitts on the Celebrity website. Has anyone ever been there? How do you get to the beach? Is there good snorkeling? The Viking Posted December 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Welcome to Cruise Critic. I am certain you will enjoy it very much. We have not been on St Kitts yet but will in 2 weeks so I can not answer your questions. However, I am certain this link can help you until other seasoned cruisers chime in. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
hshowalter Posted December 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2010 I was on the Mercury & about 3-4 weeks ago & there is a beach close to the pier & you can see it from the ship. When we were there that beach was closed due to polutted water. You can buy Appleton rum for $6.
DCguys Posted December 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2010 Our Eclipse cruise earlier this month went there and it was our favorite port! I'm still working on my big review, but should post my St Kitts section very soon. You can buy Appleton rum for $6.00 But Appleton is from Jamaica (I think) The local spirit of St. Kitts is CSR (Cane Sugar Rum) Think it was originally from the Rothschilds or Rockefellows. Smooth and potent. And it is cool because you cannot find it anywhere else.
