422Melissa Posted April 29, 2014 #726 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Some of the shows during the week of 4/13 were the standard Welcome Aboard show, Vroom, the Love and Marriage show, Superstars Live (or whatever that one is called), and a classic R&B/soul singer who was quite good, although I can't remember her name. I thought 3 of the 4 comedians were great, and I also spent some time enjoying Roger in the piano bar. Hi Lux in the Starry Night lounge were fun as well. I especially liked their Beatles set. Regarding the lounger question in the Aft cabins, I had 6264 in December and we had two chairs and a table. No lounger, but one of the chairs had a reclining back. NCTribeFan Posted April 29, 2014 #727 Share Posted April 29, 2014 When I had 4230 on Miracle, it only had the two chairs and little table (one semi-reclining chair). I don't normally tip the cabin steward up front but a little bribery may be in order this time! I'll have go up to the Serenity Deck to do most of my sunbathing in comfort. I don't really spend a lot of time in the sun (just cannot sit and bake all day) but do want to get some natural vitamin D! I'm an early riser, so I hope to camp out in one of the big, round things. On my Glory to Bermuda cruise, I'd be up there early (Serenity Deck is in the bow on the upper decks). It was glorious sitting up there in the morning sun, reading. I don't go to a lot of shows but unlike many here, I actually think the production shows are pretty good these days. I quit going for several cruises because I thought the singing was pretty dreadful and I have a problem with singers who don't sing well! I have no problem with there being no orchestra. Really enjoyed The Brits and the motown shows (saw them on both Fantasy and Conquest - world of difference in the production on the larger ship because of the added stage space). And I rarely go to the comedy shows. I may have to try one or two this time (keep myself out of the casino wasting money :p ).
jakzak10 Posted April 29, 2014 #728 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Will I be disappointed in the Pride after sailing on the Glory. I know the 2.0 will not be in effect for our Aug 3 departure, but are there enough choices as to not getting bored? Thanks
WetToes Posted April 29, 2014 #729 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Don't know. Only one way to find out, right? ;) I hope you enjoy her.
WetToes Posted April 29, 2014 #730 Share Posted April 29, 2014 NCTribeFan - By early riser, I hope you mean WELL before sunrise. The hogs are ridiculous. Our last Pride cruise the same man and women hogged not only a hammock, but also a round lounger all day, at the same time. I saw them every time we were on the Serenlty deck. They actually spent very little time using either. Their personal items were very comfy ... all day long. I finally called them on it after watching others try to find a seat. They couldn't believe what I was saying. They were just soooo special.

I know the 2.0 will not be in effect for our Aug 3 departure, but are there enough choices as to not getting bored? Thanks Jakzak10, We sailed Pride after our Carnival Breeze cruise and we weren't disappointed. We've also sailed Glory and the main thing you'll need to expect is the layout isn't as similar as you might expect. On Glory the Lido main areas are aft of the atrium and on Spirit Class they are spread all over the top. Serenity is aft vs forward and there's only one dining room. Pride's décor is perhaps the most striking difference you'll notice from Glory. IMO, sans the nude art, Pride is most similar to Liberty in her décor. Going in I didn't expect to relate Pride to Liberty, but she certainly has the same feel as you walk about the ship's corridors and public spaces of the main decks. Pride will have enough offerings to prevent boredom, but you'll find them in different areas than on Glory; seek and ye shall find! :)

Our favourite ship is the Liberty, and I'm happy to hear the Pride boasts some similarities. I am very much looking forward to experiencing a Spirit-class ship. We were fortunate to snag cabin 6263, and looking forward to having a balcony big enough for the 4 of us. Sent from my mobile device. Typos are inevitable. beachbaby2 Posted May 4, 2014 #733 Share Posted May 4, 2014 We are thinking of booking cabins 7182 and 7184 on the verandah deck. There is a blank wall across from these cabins. Can anyone tell me if it is indeed a blank wall or the maintenance closet or housekeeping closet? jakzak10 Posted May 4, 2014 #734 Share Posted May 4, 2014 Thanks for the feedback. We are looking forward to trying the Pride. Plus I was able to get 2- Cat 9B cabins next to each other on Verandah Deck so it should be nice!
NCTribeFan Posted May 4, 2014 #735 Share Posted May 4, 2014 Well, I went ahead and booked the 11 am shuttle. I know I'll be at the port too early. Despite saying I'd rather sit comfortably at the hotel, I'm just too anxious to wait! Really looking forward to getting reacquainted with the layout of this class. And enjoying my aft balcony! Hoping for seven days of sun and smooth seas, :-) Sent from my Xoom using Forums mobile app

My first Miracle cruise, we were in 7192. Went down a crew stairwell for muster drill. There may be some noise from door slamming. NCTribeFan Posted May 4, 2014 #741 Share Posted May 4, 2014 Well that was the easiest check in ever. 20 min from hotel to sitting in the VIP waiting area. We'll see how long this phase lasts. BattyL Posted May 4, 2014 #745 Share Posted May 4, 2014 We left on 4-27, arrived at port about 11:00 am and had to wait about an hour to park. We didn't get to board until about 1:15 and that was with FTTF and 2 wedding parties. The ship didn't leave port until 5:15. We had a great cruise, I love the Pride. :)
BigRed93 Posted May 4, 2014 #746 Share Posted May 4, 2014 On board now. Got here at 12:10, sat for about 15 mins after checking in and straight up to our cabin. Now it's 1:30, we have already met our cabin steward, and have had round 1 of Reubens. :) Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
