Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Zipline?

Recommended Posts

I'm going zip-lining next week, and would love to take my camera with me. I have a neck-strap attached to it, but only a thin Lumix cord attaches it to a half-round metal piece on the camera.

If this breaks, it's bye-bye camera. Any suggestions for a second way of attaching it? Maybe using the tri-pod port at the bottom?

Thanks...Kathy

The little cord is actually quite strong. It would be unlikely to snap unless you caught it on something and really tugged hard to free it.

If you are really concerned, here's some options that might settle your nerves:

Sunsniper Compact (screws into tripod socket):

ProStrap wrist strap. Very strong and available with split-ring connector:

This topic caught my attention.

I use the BlackRapid strap that screws into the tripod hole so am not afraid of losing the camera but how practical is it on a somewhat exerting activity as the zip-line or the Jamaica bobsled?

Or for that matter, the water excursions like Dunns River Falls and the river tubing?
