Can someone tell me if taxi cabs are readily available at the Port of Miami once our cruise is over? Do you have to reserve one in advance? Can four people fit in a taxi?

Thanks for any help!

There will be tons of cabs available once you get off the ship.. yes 4 can fit they have suv's and vans...;)

$24 + tip is the flat rate for the cab - not per person; depending upon how many bags you have, it is possible to fit 5+ in some of the SUV/mini-van cabs. The ride from POM to MIA takes about 15 minutes. Same flat rate applies from MIA to POM. Have a good cruise! :)

Thank you both for the insight......never been in a taxi before so it should be interesting :D

After you get going in the cab notice the meter running - then check the fare posting on the window and say something like "It's still a flat rate fare of $24, right?" to let the driver know that you will not be cheated! ;) The driver usually has to run the meter to account for his time/miles. When you arrive, ignore the meter and pay the $24 + a tip ($3-4 should be fine, especially if the driver was helpful with your bags).

Have a great cruise! :)

Good to know! Thanks for the tip. The ship docks at 8:00 and our flight leaves MIA at 11:30 so hopefully we can make it in time.

Most of the ships arrive early - chances are you will be off the ship somewhere between 8:00 and 9:00, and should be at MIA soon after that - plenty early for your 11:30 flight. Good luck! :)
