CCL Valor - Embarkation stations??

I've read on some reviews that when embarking on the Carnival Valor you are assigned stations before entering the ship. I've cruised with Carnival before and don't recall having to wait in a station. Can anyone clarify? Thanks!

You will probably get better responses on the Carnival boards. Much larger audience to draw from.

As people check in they may get a 'number'. These are given in the order you check in. This is so the number of people boarding at the same is controlled and they don't have a hundred plus people trying to board at the same time. The wait is never long as they know how to move it along. When the check in dies down they probably stop as numbers are no longer necessary.
