jayfer Posted January 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2011 What do you need to take with you when you port in Progresso and Cozumel? Do you need to take your passports with you or just a copy of your birth certificate?
yst347 Posted January 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2011 The only documents you are required to take with you off the ship are your sign & sail card and a photo ID. The sign and sail card is the only document the ship needs to allow you to reboard. The photo ID is for port security to allow you to enter the port area but the vast majority of ports in Mexico and the Caribbean never ask for ID. If for some reason you miss the ship you will need your passport to fly onward to catch the ship or come home.
firefly333 Posted January 14, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2011 I only put my drivers license in my coin purse now. I took my passport and a bottle of water got tipped on it .. so now I leave it in the safe. (no flaming please, its my decision, I wouldnt miss the ship .. no lectures)

If you don't have a passport, just bring a photocopy (not original) of birth certificate. Never needed more. Amy
