Make an 8 hour stop in Valencia. Has anyone been to the City of the Arts and Sciences, more specifically the L'Oceanografic Complex? Would appreciate any and all information. Private taxi OR Ship Excursion???? Thanks

Valencia is a great city - so much to see. You can use the hip hop on and off bus to get to many places. You might want to check it's schedule to see if it stops at your attractions. And the market is fabulous too.

A lot of it is quite walkable. You can indeed take a taxi to your places of interest.

whether to do it yourself, tour or with HAL is an individual decision. I prefer private and doing it on our own in most places.

Valencia tourism has a very good website which might be helpful to you as well.

I don't think you need a HAL tour, but as I said, that is a matter of preference.

enjoy Valencia :):)

Thank you so much for the info. Like you, we rather do a private tour. Did not know about the on and off bus, will probably do that, AND if the Museum is far, will just take a taxi. First time in Valencia and very excited. Thanks again.........

A taxi to the City of Arts and Sciences was the best way to go. We did not go to the Oceanography attraction as it was quite costly and we didn't have enough time to really enjoy it, as we were only in port for a few hours. Instead we walked around the complex to admire the architecture of the buildings and we went into those which were open.

Tip: Right across the street is a large shopping mall similar to those at home. In the mall is a large store which is very similar to a Wal-Mart or Target. We picked up some small items that we needed as well as some snacks before taking a taxi back to the ship.
