stipmom Posted January 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2011 ships? I am booked in an E2 but would consider a D2 if it is larger. My cabin is on the hump. Thanks
138east Posted January 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2011 The E2 is slightly smaller than the D2. There is a love seat in the E2 and a full size couch in the D2. I loved the hump cabin - IMO the convenience to the aft stairs and elevator outweighed any extra space and the E2's are usually less expensive as well. They are the best balcony deal on the ship. What deck are you booked on?
ehfl Posted January 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Unless you're planning on ballroom dancing in your cabin, the difference in size is negligible.
jonbgd Posted January 17, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I agree the HUMP Balcony is a great location for any cabin my favorite The D2 is a little bigger yes it does have a sofa instead of a love seat which in turn pushes the bed closer to the balcony away from the middle of the cabin which gives you more space to walk around the bed since you arnt bumping into the curved part of the shelves:D:D
The Big Booper Posted January 17, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Location, Location, location. E2 on the hump is better then a D2 far from the elevator. A friend of ours on the recent Explorer holiday sailing had a 6th deck center E hump. I photograped it carefully then photographed an E not on the hump that was part of the CC cabin crawl. The E2 hump was a little bigger then the straight line hump and almost as big as our regular D2. I don't believe RCI's line that humps are not bigger. And I got the pics to prove it. Might add them to our Webshots album mentioned below. The DI was bigger with a larger couch then our D2.
Kellie Poodle Posted January 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I did an E2 just forward of the hump by about 2 cabins on deck 6 on Explorer in April. It was fine. Personally, I'd forgo a couple of square inches for location. I'd keep the hump cabin. As they say in real estate: it's location, location, location. stipmom Posted January 17, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Looks like I will be keeping my E2 hump cabin. Is the only difference between an E2 and E1 deck location?
ARCruisinNana Posted January 17, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 17, 2011 E2 can only have 2 PAX, E1 can have 3.
Rare silentbob007 Posted January 17, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2011 The difference between the loveseat and the full couch is not much unless you plan on using it as a pull-out, in which case the couch is much, much better. :)
