Formerfuzz Posted January 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I have read all of the posts on "prohibited items" that people are called to the naughty room for. Was wondering if anyone has had a heating pad confiscated? My wife will need it for a condition she has. I was thinking of putting it in our carry-on with her curling iron rolled up in it. Hopefully the curling iron would show up more on the luggage scan. Thoughts? Voyager of the Seas 2/27/
wflcruiser Posted January 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2011 My daughter just took hers. She was called to the naughty room for it. She told them she has a back condidtion and cannot travel without it. They did not give her a hard time after that. I guess its worth a try. cb at sea Posted January 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2011 We've brought a heating pad onboard...in our locked, checked luggage....it wasn't a problem. We did make sure it was unplugged when not in use. You'll need an extension cord, in all probability.

Maybaybie10 Posted January 17, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I would bring a dr's note just to cover yourself and then you should have no problem. Enjoy your cruise!
knittinggirl Posted January 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I always pack some back and neck thermacare pads. They last up to eight hours, and you don't need to worry about cords.

Oh, now that is a GREAT idea - I wonder if I can get those in the UK?

Mysticks1 Posted January 17, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I always pack some back and neck thermacare pads. They last up to eight hours, and you don't need to worry about cords. I also carry a couple of those with us "just in case" and they work really well. They make several different sizes and types, this is the website, maybe you can find out if you can order them. twirlgirl Posted January 17, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I had put my heating pad in the checked baggage. My husband had to go to the naughty room and open the suit case. They did let us keep it. Next time I would take it thru carry on so I don't have to carry the suit case to my cabin. Bev
