RCI Enchantment of the Seas AO club for almost 4 yr old?

Our cruise starts on 1/29/11. My son attends pre-school 2 mornings per week and absolutely loves it. However he will not be 4 until mid-April. I am wondering if that's a little too young for the Adventure Ocean Club? I know they have a 3-5 yr old group...I'm hoping he can find a buddy or two to play with. I was thinking about trying the club from 9am to lunch, then having him with us for the balance of the day. Does that sound about right? Do you think I would be able to take advantage of the AO counsellors picking him up after dinner for maybe 90 minutes to give us a chance to have a leisurely dinner? I'd love to hear your experience with using the kid's services for a child in this age range. Thanks!

They will take kids at 3 years old, so he's certainly old enough!

If he loves his pre-school, he'll love this, too! He may want to be there every waking hour....who knows? Just "play it by ear" and you'll soon find how much he'll be able to take of the club!

My daughter went to AO the week she turned three and REALLY loved it. At that time she was doing morning preschool two times a week and couldn't get enough of the kids club. We are from California and were cruising in the Caribbean so she was jetlagged and didn't usually make it to the morning session but would do the afternoon and after dinner sessions.

My worry was about how she would do on Pirate Night when they take them out of the room and march them around the ship but she did fabulous with that as well.

You just have to make sure your son is FULLY 100% independent with the bathroom. They have full size toilets and may or may not have a stepstool.

Not too young at all. AO starts at 3. You already said he was in pre-school so he is used to being away from you in other settings. :) I can't get my kids out of AO. They started at 3 and spend as much time as I allow. They beg to go back.

We'll be on Enchantment in November so let me know how it goes. There won't be many kids on that ship during your time period (or mine)
